  • Was it love at first sight?

I remember the night!!! I was in an awesome navy blue dress with
platform sneakers.(yeah I looked that hot) It was right after
high school graduation. I was living on my own. I was living the
single life! (ok well not really----my grandmother lived downstairs).
I was still kinda on my own. I was at a graduation party for a very
    old friend.

I didn't drink because I was driving and the after party spilled over
to the graduates house. That was when He walked in!!! He worked at a
grocery store. Normally, the uniforms were not
Rockin......but......it all changed that night! He was so cute! Omg-
and his eyes-BLUE like DEEP blue!

Making me remember this moment made me realize I need to celebrate my
relationship with my husband. It's not our anniversary but it's not
always those days that matter. It's the days when he is there and I
am sick and he is still there. It's the days that our bills were due
yesterday and he is still here even though we had a huge fight-neither
one walked out the door. Today, it's to easy to walk away. I have
wanted to but I am thankful I haven't (especially when I look back at
those beginning days when I made a promise to him)

My pastor said something the day we got married. He said, "don't just
hope you will be there together in 20 years, decide!".

Sometimes, I have to remember and re-decide and realize that deep down
in my memories are the better days and remember how hot he looked in
his Acme uniform. By doing that I can hold his hand and "decide" we
will get through what we are dealing with now.

    LOOK UP - NOT BACK

Having been married for 30 years, I have learned to appreciate each day we have together. Don't sweat the small stuff, and learn you don't always have to have your own way. It works Linda

Good decision Elizabeth, it's easy to think the grass is greener on the other side, it's hard to resist the temptation. Just like most good things marriage is hard work, keep remembering the Acme uniform!
