Do you ever feel like you are the only one who thinks the way that you do? You feel like you and your view points are all alone? Sometimes, I could care less about my view points and still feel like I am all alone in this county.

As much as motherhood unites many in Cape May County, sometimes our view points, such as discipline, school choice ( public, private, home educated), breast fed or formula fed, our income amount or the many other view points can divide us. I have enjoyed talking and discussing with many other moms on the spout off motherhood avenue channel. I have learned a lot about the many different types of parents that we can all can be.

We could focus on our differences and let them divide us. We could!!!!....or we could embrace those differences. We could talk and we could find like minded moms. We could have a community. All of the above, at different moments in the day or stages of our lives, could be beneficial. Like I have said on the motherhood avenue many times before, "creating a dialog helps let us learn from each other and decide what type of parent we are going to to be and what kind of parent we are not going to be." I am convinced that this type of dialog can create food for thought and help us become the mothers that our children deserve to have. It will also help us make the decisions that are right for our family.

One of the great things about the Internet is, no matter what your interest, you can find others who share your perspective. However, it is good to remember to keep things in perspective. If I searched out only people who sing the same parenting song as myself and agree on just the most important aspects of my identity, I would quite possibly become very bored with all of the head nodding agreement and echoing of my own comments.

It's my wish that Motherhood Ave. can help reach many moms who need to feel the sense of community. I want them to feel that Cape May County can be a supportive place to raise fully functional, cultured children. Whether you are for McCain or Obama, it is likely you will find parents who will agree with you on the Motherhood Avenue Forum. The feeling that you are alone is not always logical. We are all here in the same boat, raising our kids in Cape May County.

Please join us in our conversations as we unite as parents to make our united voice matter in Motherhood Avenue!!!
