  • Attention: Mother and Father of the Brat

(Please bear with me as I vent to all of the moms out there, who read my blog. This entry, although it should be taken seriously, is just a small letter to inform the parents whom I have had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting. Believe me, if the parents just happen to read this, they, for sure, know I am speaking directly to them.)

Attention: Mother and Father of the Brat

Your child called. He said, "If you really loved him, you would have enough gumption to adequately discipline him for acting like a hooligan and menace to this society!" He wishes you to come home immediately and ground him for acting selfishly and for acting spoiled. He also wanted to let you know that the decisions that you are making regarding his present behavior are effecting the way he will be leading his life in the future.

On a personal note, I would like prompt attention to this matter, as your little devil, has now annoyed his coaches, teachers, school principle, and his friend's parents. Your parental skills are being questioned and this letter is written to you to inform you, that if you don’t take charge and act like an adult (by disciplining your child,) someone else will. I have a firm belief, if this does happen, you will not like it as it will fall upon the jurisdiction of law enforcement or a judge.

Thanks for your attention in this matter.

    Yours Truly,
    Elizabeth Norton

Though I don't know the situation, this letter can apply to all of us. It is a great thing to keep in mind when we need to discipline a child. Discipline is best for the parents and the child!
