Male Bonding Time (at the Airplane Museum) Proves Good for All of the Norton Family

The day was a Saturday morning, and what a morning it was! The wonderful Man of Mine decided that he would take the kiddos out to give me a break! I did say that he was wonderful, right?? I love being a mom, but I also like being me. So, I jumped at the chance to sleep in and enjoy the morning being lazy like I used to in my teenage years. I was just as delighted (and refreshed) when the kids came home acting as if I had a week without them. Even though I enjoyed my moments without my kids in tow, I felt a little spark of regret for letting the adventure to the Naval Air Station Museum and Vietnam Museum go on without me.

Mr. 5 year old told of his adventures in a coast guard rescue basket, and "my man" had a moment of being a proud father as he showed off the grinning boy surrounded by the woven wires (needless to say, I hope this is the last time he is ever in a rescue basket). I saw the boys in the cockpit of a plane and saw pictures of more than 10 different types of planes. I couldn't believe it......I missed a cool thing. I never would have thought that something this extreme could have been in North Cape May. I drive past this spot everytime the kiddos and I are off to see my mother and father in law.

The total cost of their adventure cost 10 bucks and they stayed there for about 2 hours. Mr. 5 year old learned some things, made some memories with his Dad, and the baby even looked as if he had a fun time too. I encourage you to take a stop at this spot! My husband does warn all to be prepared for an un-air-conditioned room!!! It has military memorabilia and the information for you to learn about flight!!!

So, maybe it is ok to let the boys have some fun without their mom. Being with their Dad is worth way more than 10 dollars!!!! Two hours of sleep for me is worth more than 10 dollars too!! I guess the saying is correct, that a "happy mom is a happy family". If sleep makes me happy....than sleeping I will do.....I am willing to take that sacrifice for my crew!!!!

The family gives this adventure a 6 thumbs up (out of 10) or should I say a sure "take off" (pun intended) for fun.
