  • Let them be little Part 1:Making Bath Time a Blast Time (13 tips for making bath time fun)

    1. Music always makes for a good time. Burn a CD of all of your child's favorite songs. Don't forget the water fun classics like "Splish Splash", "Sponge Bob's Theme Song", and "The Fishy Song". Make sure the CD player is away from the splash zone!

    2. Make Bath time a pool party! If it is cold outside, let them wear their as if it were 99 degrees out. If the weather is more pool party friendly, fill a baby pool up with warm water. Bring out the bubbles and no matter how much they splash it will never matter.

    3. Make a toasty towel for them to be wrapped up in when they get out(make sure not to leave your child unattended)

    4. Make silly hair styles with the foamed up shampoo. Get them to have spiked hair or rolled over on the top, like Martha Washington. Don't forget to take pictures of the memories to embarrass them when they are teenagers.

    5. Buy sponges (available at most dollar stores.) Help your child make the sponge into different shapes and paint with suds and colored soap.

    6. Purchase water guns or toys, and bring the fun to the tub.

    7. Give yourself a pedicure while you are supervising. As your feet soak in the tub your little angel will think you are having the fun with him, and then you can paint your toes while the fun continues for both of you.

    8. I remember when my son was little and just mastering the art of walking. He never wanted to cuddle. I would always wrap him up like a tortilla with the towel and keep him warm with a long hug.

    9. Bring an inflatable ball into the tub and watch it jump as it is pushed to the bottom of the tub and let go.

    10. Have rubber ducky or boat races around the tub.

    11. Bubble Baths are always fun, no matter how long bubble bath has been around.

    12. Take different cups, bowls, and other containers into the tub. Trap the air in them, push them under the water, and then let the bubbles escape. Try to get your son/daughter to catch them, make them, and make sound effects as they rise to the surface.

    13. Switch it up. Don't make it your "everyday bath." Change bathtubs, toys, and bubble bath smells so that your child does not get bored with the bathing experience.

*remember safety always comes before fun.
