Pedestrian Struck in Wildwood Airlifted to Trauma Center

WILDWOOD-- A 20-year-old man was hit by a vehicle near 26th Street and Atlantic Avenue Saturday at 4:53 p.m., Wildwood police said.

Mehmet Veral, of North Wildwood was airlifted to the trauma unit at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City with injures described by police as serious.

The driver of the vehicle was identified by police as Ann Vesper, 21, of Wildwood.

The crash remains under investigation.

Only because it needs to be said, it's not so much these vehicles hitting people as it is them walking in front of them.
