MOUNT HOLLY - The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a high wind warning, which is in effect from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m Thursday. Expect northeast winds at 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph, during the day Wednesday, becoming more northerly Wednesday night. The strongest winds are likely to occur anytime from late morning into mid afternoon. Strong winds could bring down tree limbs and power lines and cause power outages, especially if accompanied by a wet snow accumulation Wednesday evening. The public is encouraged to take all appropriate precautions, including securing outdoor items and making preparations for potential loss of power.
