By Press Release

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Red Flag Warning which is in effect from 2 to 7 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 8.

It has not rained in almost two weeks across most of this area. Any showers or isolated early thunderstorms Wednesday morning
will be brief with amounts under one quarter inch.

Skies will rapidly clear during midday Wednesday with temperatures heating up into the mid to upper 80s. Winds will shift to west and gust between 25 and 35 mph during mid afternoon. Dewpoints will tumble and relative humidity should drop below 30 percent by 3 PM.

Precautionary/Preparedness actions.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.
