PHILADELPHIA, PA. — United by Blue, (UBB) a sustainable apparel and accessories company will host a beach cleanup in Stone Harbor June 12 in honor of World's Oceans Day.

United by Blue currently sells their products to Global Pursuit and hope that this event will allow people to understand the importance of keeping our oceans clean.

For every one product sold, UBB removes one pound of trash from our oceans around the world through beach cleanups. From the sale of their products, UBB is removing thousands of pounds of trash from oceans, saving the lives of countless turtles, dolphins, and other sea life.

And unfortunately in the aftermath of this oil spill, our oceans need all the help they can get.

United By Blue is based in Philadelphia and as a part of their initiative they are actively involved in cleaning waterways that run into the ocean. They are always recruiting volunteers to come out to the river with them to remove trash before it makes its way into the ocean. UBB is looking to remove 15,000 pounds of trash this year.

Brian Linton, founder of UBB is a 23 year-old self-taught designer and eco-entrepreneur. He is a Temple University graduate and 2008 winner of Temple’s Business Plan Competition. He majored in Asian studies and started his first ocean-focused business when he was a sop******re in college and has been dedicated to making a difference for our oceans ever since. His latest entrepreneurial endeavor involves fashion and a lot of trash.

With the beach clean up in Stone Harbor, UBB hopes to show that they can help our oceans in a concrete way, especially in the aftermath of this controversial oil spill. Whether it be volunteering through UBB organized beach cleanups or by purchasing UBB products, people can help us help our oceans.
