Stone Harbor Police Charge Minor with Supplying False ID

STONE HARBOR — On Tues., June 22, at 5:17 p.m., Stone Harbor Police received a call of subjects smoking marijuana and drinking alcoholic beverages on the fishing pier located on the 300 Block of 83rd Street.

Investigating Officers located five subjects, four adults and one juvenile, in the area. Upon observing an open alcoholic beverage, the officers asked for identification from the subjects. Johannes K. Anthony stated he was 21, and supplied the officers with a fictitious Tennessee driver's license.

During further questioning by officers, Anthony continued to supply false identification information and was subsequently placed under arrest. Following his arrest, Anthony supplied the police with his correct identification information revealing that he was 19 years old.

Anthony was charged with the third degree crime of supplying a false government document to a law enforcement officer and the fourth degree crime of hindering his own apprehension Anthony was also charged with Underage Possession/ Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages and several borough ordinance violations.

Further investigation led to Robert Conway being charged with offering alcoholic beverages to underage persons and a borough ordinance violation for an open alcoholic container in public.

Officers determined that none of the subjects had been smoking marijuana and the remaining three subjects were determined not to have been consuming alcoholic beverages.

The case is pending review by the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office.

You guys are amazing!!! The police will ruin his life????? I guess they made him get the fake ID, give it to the police and continue to lie when he was caught??? What I see is police doing the job they are paid to do.

So much for kids being kids. When I was growing up in Sea Isle we use to hang on the jetties and do whatever just kids being kids. Pat La Rosa bless his soul good guy, or one of the other guys on the force would come shine a light and say move on and that was that. Thing are so much different today.
