COURT HOUSE- Thanksgiving arrived two weeks early Nov. 13 for almost 50 needy local families, thanks to students at Middle Township High School. Nearly 200 students from the school’s Key Club, Interact Club, and Red Cross Club pitched in to create a holiday dinner and party.
Families dined on turkey, ham and all the trimmings. Children did arts and crafts and even joined the students for a dance party.
Joanne Hackett, executive director of Caring For Kids, noted that some of the students had worked with these families before. “The kids got to know them when we did this last year, so they were looking for them this year, seeing if they were coming back.”
She also thanked Acme Market for their generosity. “We asked them to donate two turkeys,” she said. “They gave us 20! With stuffing and gravy and everything!”
