I'm glad to hear everyone involved escaped with only minor injuries. Islandgirl and Scorpion make very good points. The parking on the island is out of control, and the city needs more traffic lights to assist with the crowded conditions especially during the summer. To the 'imgonnafishing' your comment is very rude. It's called an 'accident', it doesn't mean that someone is an idiot. I'm sure at some point in your life you have been involved in one, even if only minor. Show some respect, there were young children involved in this accident! I'm sure the parent/driver(s) involved in this feel terrible enough without having to read your arrogant and judgemental comments.

Many, many thanks to the wonderful rescue teams and good samaritans that assisted my family of four children and my parents out of the car and to the hospital. We are so grateful to all of you for stepping up and assisting us at a very scary time. I am thankful that all involved from both vehicles escaped with minor injuries. To the "imgonnafishing" post, I can assure you that I am not a "plan" idiot and only hope that you are lucky enough to never particpate in an "accident" yourself.

Some people are just plan idiots. They are not paying attention. You can talk all the changes you want. Blah Blah Blah. Period....

The problem isn't just at 25th and Atlantic. It's at every intersection without a traffic light from Surf to Delaware, Chestnut to 26th. There isn't enough parking in North Wildwood to accommodate the crowds that invade during the summer. The debacle created on Surf Ave didn't ease the parking dilemma that has been a result of over development approved by the elected officials.
Our streets were sold to developers to count as off street parking spots and the politicians readily accepted the thousands of dollars paid to them for each spot sold. Most people who rent come with multiple cars. They drive up and down residential streets looking for an un-metered spot and leave these vehicles parked for the duration of their stay. Beach goers and weekend enthusiasts have virtually no place to park so they block cross walks and stop signs, some far enough into the intersection to create a hazard to vehicles and pedestrians trying to cross the street.
Poor city planning, weekly events, festivals and FREE enticements make maneuvering the island pure he// during the summer season. Distracted drivers unfamiliar with the streets make it potentially deadly for all. Greed will keep complacency intact.

The parking on Altantic Ave. and 25th ave. must be changed. You can park up to the stop sign on 25th and up to the corner of Atlantic. I've seen 3-4 minor accidents and a man on a bike get hit, just this summer alone. This intersection needs a light or the parking laws MUST be changed. It was a miracle no one was injured too badly last night. Next time, some may be. There was a fatal accident in the late '80's at 21st. and Atlantic. The parking laws were changed, then. At some point, the law were changed back as they were before. Is it going to take another fatality to change them again?
