COURT HOUSE - Registration is now open for the fourth Beeginners Beekeeping course conducted by members of the NJ Beekeepers Association (Jersey Cape Branch), NJ Department of Agriculture and in conjunction with Rutgers Cooperative Extension Office of Cape May County for those interested in learning about managing your own bee hive. Anyone with an interest in beekeeping will have an opportunity to learn about bee biology, hive management, hive equipment construction, handling bees, pests of bees and honey processing. No previous education or training in handling bees is required. The course will be limited to 50 individuals.

The program includes six sessions of classroom training and one in the field.

Registration fee is $30 per person for those who are members of one of the Branches of the New Jersey Beekeepers Association which includes class materials and depending on which of the 4 options is chosen, additional charges between $150 and $275 are appropriate. Classes will run from Feb. 17 through March 23 with the 7th session to be established when the bees arrive.
