STONE HARBOR -- Some said it was one of the warmest night in memory for a Christmas parade here on Sat., Nov. 26. If not the balmiest, at least one of the longest parades watched by several thousand who lined Third Avenue from 108th Street to 96th Street.
Fire companies from throughout the county joined the line of march with decorated fire engines.
Members of the newly-formed Cape May Dance Company marched in their very first Christmas parade with toy soldiers, and many more in their dance attire.
Earlier in the evening, members of Our Saviour Lutheran Church Choir sang carols around the borough's clock on 96th Street, led by Rev. Dr. Glenn Schoenberger.
At the end of the line of march was Santa and Mrs. Claus pulled in a white, horse-drawn carriage. Youngsters yelled and waved as they saw the North Pole's first couple, signaling for this resort that the Christmas season had officially started its countdown to Dec. 25.
