UPDATED: Singer Taylor Swift Spotted Around Cape May County
SCHELLENGERS LANDING — Yes, that was singer Taylor Swift dining at the Lobster House, Tue., Dec. 27 about 7 p.m.
Swift’s dinner at the Lobster House has become the talk of the town.
Lobster House Restaurant Manager Chris Krauss said fellow diners did not bother Swift for autographs.
“Everything was totally cool, she came in like an average person,” he said. “We maintain professionalism here at the Lobster House.”
“She was very relaxed, very laid back,” he continued.
Krauss said he believed her parents own a house in Avalon.
Swift was also spotted in Teabury Antiques in Swainton, Wed. Dec. 28 and Cape May Wicker. She was described as "tall and very nice."
Additional reports from readers placed Swift at Uncle Bill's Pancake House in Avalon having breakfast Dec. 28 and stopping in Capt. Scraps Attic antique store in Seaville about 3 p.m.
Brian Corbett, of the Original Fudge Kitchen, posted a photo on the Herald's Facebook page of a guitar pick Swift gave him after making a purchase.
In the end, it seemed Swift did what many of us do, ate in restaurants, bought fudge and shopped along the Route 9 corridor of stores. Everyone who encountered her had kind words to say.
Swift, 22, was named Woman of the Year by Billboard Magazine, a music industry trade magazine. Her third album, “Speak Now,” has been nominated for Best Country Album and "Mean" has been nominated for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.
She will appear on the 2012 Grammy Awards, which are scheduled to air Feb. 12 on CBS.
Swift begins a concert tour of Australia and New Zealand in March.

We actually get quite a few celebrities coming here..... with that said it's not like she's special, did she hand you a check for a million? She's just a normal person who happens to sing well enough to get paid for it. Remember her bowel movements stink too!

I was in Kmart at around the same time and got a call While I was in Walmart you missed it.. And m friend said that she was in Kmart.. It is wonderful that people around here just did not pester or give the singer too much chasing . like other towns where they get news casters and other reporters to follow the celibrities around to get pictures. and hound them . Great to see she was more relaxed. I hear she was like any other person , and that is all they are.

It's awesome how Taylor came down here. We rarely get celebrities down here and when we do it's a big deal lol. The last celebrity that was down here was John stamos and he was at my aunts work in cape may. Della's 5&10. She took pictures off security camera. :) but I'm just mad because Taylor was at Kmart same time as I was at Walmart just missed her. But it's cool how she came down to relax with no one crowding her. Hope she enjoyed her time here at the shore and hope that she comes back, and maybe do a concert. :)

Its a pretty solid measure of the lameness of an area when a celebrity eating in a restaurant and visiting a shop or two pins the news meter. Glad that she was able to get out and around and not be too mobbed by star struck, dim bulb, knuckle dragging cro magnons.

Not surprising at all as she's originally from Southeastern, PA! You never hear about that now that she's a huge star. She probably grew up going to the Jersey shore as a kid like the rest of us.
