CAPE MAY — According to attorney Charles W. Sandman III, who represented Paul E. Weidman in Cape May Municipal Court Feb. 15, it was determined that Weidman was not responsible for most of the copper tubing that went missing, but he agreed to pay $2,400 for the copper involved.

A May 25, 2011 release from Cape May Police Department reported the arrest of Weidman of Lower Township in connection with burglary and theft of copper tubing from a Beach Avenue construction site.

The bulk of the damage and theft was attributable to Weidman’s nephew, Bill Weidman, who has been charged with damage and theft of the bulk of the copper. A warrant has been issued for Bill Weidman and a court date is pending, said Sandman.
