NORTH WILDWOOD — Two young boys were hospitalized after separate near-drowning incidents in North Wildwood Saturday evening.
The first incident occurred at the Chateu Bleu Motel at 911 Surf Avenue around 6:30 p.m.
A group of students from Cinnaminson High School were at the pool celebrating Senor Week when Mike Gallow, 18, heard a woman scream. Gallow said when he looked up he saw a young boy at the bottom of the motel's swimming pool.
According to students, the mother jumped in and rescued the boy then handed him off to bystanders who started to give the boy mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
After a few minutes, the boy started spitting up water and regained consciousness, they said.
The 5-year-old boy is being treated at Cape Regional Medical Center, police said.
Less than an hour later, another near-drowning incident was reported. That incident was at a pool at a private residence in the 2500 block of Central Avenue.
Police said, a 4-year-old boy was pulled from the pool by a family member who was a certified Emergency Medical Technician and given CPR. Within a few minutes the youth coughed up water and was breathing.
The Wildwood Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the youth to Cape Regional.

Hey BigDem, You might be BIG in size but you sure have some growing up to do. Do me a favor and IGNORE me. I have a low tolerance for whining cry babies.
Harry, I still say you are doing one heck of a job in reporting breaking news in the area.

Gee, thanks Scorpion for letting all of us know that we need to relax. I mean, we all just don't know how worked up we would get if it wasn't for heroes like you who come along and save us from ourselves. Gimme a break. Go back to your friend, the mirror, and amuse yourself awhile!
Thank God for those who saved the lives of these two boys.

Everyone needs to relax. Both children survived. I give Harry all the credit for monitoring the NW channel. If it wasn't for him, no one would have known about these two NEAR tragedies and the attempted sexual assault that occurred last week. North Wildwood releases NOTHING but rose colored information on parades and tram car movies. Keep up the good work, Harry. Your hard work and dedication getting the news out here is appreciated. I hope the upper echelon at the Herald appreciates you as much as it's readers do. (Do I smell a pay raise?) LOL

tat2er: some people have to look for articles to post stupid comments. They live for that and must not have anything better to do. Thank goodness there were people around who knew what to do and saved these children. And THANK YOU to Harry Sheeler for his articles and updates..

Two children didn't die and all you can do is make stupid editorial comments. Hope nothing tragic ever touches your family that you might have to read peoples flip remarks.

How does one float at the bottom of a pool? I'm curious.
