Has one of life’s many events left you needing a place to store your valuables?

In today’s world, storage has become one of the fastest growing industries simply because we all have “stuff,” and sometimes life just happens.

If you have never had a need to store your stuff before, you may be unsure of some of the particulars behind renting a self-storage unit or may be apprehensive about leaving your valuables with someone else.

Here’s an idea of what to expect. Hopefully, this will quell some fears about storing your belongings.

As your hunt for the perfect storage space begins, most people today head to the internet. While the internet is a valuable resource for location and pricing, there are some other key items you want to look for when selecting a property to rent from.

First and foremost are convenience and accessibility.

Is the property convenient to where I live?

Is the property available 24 hours a day if needed?

If you plan on accessing your unit often, then location and access should be number one on your list. If you’re moving in once and won’t be back until you move out, then shop for price. Drive a little; save a lot!

Next on your list should be safety and security.

Is the property fenced and gated?

Are the gates electronically controlled?

Do they have surveillance?

Is the property lit at night?

Is there an onsite manager?

Security is probably the number one thing a storage facility can sell. You should feel safe at a property and trust that your valuables will remain that way as well.

The last item on your list should be other amenities.

Does the property offer a free truck to move in?

Does the facility offer a full line of moving and packing supplies?

Storage Bin offers both of these amenities right in our rental office, making your move as stress free as possible. Plus, all of our properties are under 24-hour digital video surveillance, fully gated, and well lit with onsite managers available.

Once you find the right facility, you will sign a month to month lease and have to provide your own lock for the storage unit. You will be given an access code to the gate and of course you’ll have your own keys to the lock. Move into one of our all ground level units and lock up! Renting with us will get you home by noon just in time for Sunday Afternoon Football!

Should you have additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Gina, our local manager at 609-886-1002.
