Announces Participation in Signature ACS Event, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®
COURT HOUSE — Curves® of Cape May County, part of the chain of the world’s largest franchisor of fitness clubs, announced that it will support the American Cancer Society by participating in one of its signature fundraising events, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®.
Last year, the club raised $1,200. This year, Curves of Cape May County has set a goal to raise $2,000.
Cape May County’s Making Strides event will take place at 1 West Shellbay Ave. Cape May Court House on Oct.19 5 p.m.-7 p.m. It will be a Girl Time "Birthday Celebration." The evening will be filled with fun, food, prizes, pampering and information on breast cancer and other womens’ health issues.
We will be offering a $0 registration that evening for anyone who would like to join Curves and experience the health benefits that exercise brings to you. Everyone is welcome.
"Making Strides is such an important event for us," said Curves of Cape May County manager Diane Zalewski. "So many people are touched by breast cancer in some way, and this is a great opportunity for us to come together as a community and do something about it.
“It’s exciting to know that we’re not just participating with the members in our own community, but with other Curves owners and their members across the country as well," she added.
Curves International is a National Corporate Team Program participant for both Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer®, making Curves the first corporation to become a National Corporate Team Program member of two key ACS events.
