WOODBINE – Mayor William Pikolycky is pleased to announce that the Borough of Woodbine received bids on Feb. 1, 2012, for its project to construct a Senior Citizen Addition to the Community Center along with related renovations, and awarded the contract for this work to Joseph Porretta Builders, Inc. of Hammonton, the lowest bidder.

Bidders were: Alliano Brothers Contracting, $176,155; Joseph Porretta Builders, $165,900; Levy Construction Co., $213,600; MJJ Construction, LLC, $188,962; Ocean Construction, LLC, $196,083; Pantarelli Home, Inc., $173,900; R. Maxwell Construction Co., $184,413.

The project is being funded under a New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Small Cities Public Facilities grant.

The scope of this project is construction of a 600 sq ft addition to the present Community Center to be dedicated to Senior Citizen activities. The Cape May County Department on Aging will be providing a nutrition program at the site once certified. Other renovations include ADA compliant restrooms.

This addition will allow expanded senior activities in a dedicated space.

“We are looking forward for this work to begin within the next thirty days, with an anticipated completion date sometime this summer,” added Mayor Pikolycky. “We want to again thank DCA for participating in such a worthwhile project which will enable our Senior population to take advantage of available County programs.”
