WILDWOOD - The Wildwood Board of Commissioners authorized $279,966 as
part of a resolution at its meeting Sept. 14 to contract with Langan Engineering for remedial investigation services.
"The previous administration proceeded with remediation of the back bay,"
said Mark Karavan, Board Solicitor. "The contracted with two groups an
attorney and this group. In order to proceed with the Department of
Environmental Protection closure plan, we need to use this company."
Money for these services will be taken from the $500,000 bond, which was already approved by the commissioners during a previous meeting.
Commissioners adopted an ordinance that allows for the initial costs of an environmental study to be done at the old landfill located on the west side of the city.
The ordinance, numbered 860-11, calls for “certain preliminary expenses in connection with the redevelopment of the bay side area in and for the city of Wildwood and appropriating $500,000 therefore and providing for the issuance of bonds or notes of the city of Wildwood to finance the same.”

hopefully the solar and recreation park is still going to be built. That land has been vacant for too long.
