VILLAS — Lower Township Rescue Squad Chief Kevin Hart reported Tue., Jan. 31 that through the kindness of many in our community, they were able to help 120 families with food.

According to Lower Township Manager Michael Voll, "It seems that we have been asking at least once a month for food donations and monetary help to purchase food. We have received around $2,000 in checks sent to the Lower Township Rescue - noted in the memo area “Food Bank”.

“On behalf of Township Council, and all the food bank recipients, we thank all that have shared with our residents during these tough economic times”.
“We are not out of it yet; we still need non-perishables dropped off at the Township Hall, 2600 Bayshore Road, in the Villas, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,” he said

Checks can be sent to the Managers Office at the same address.

Voll stated “You will truly be blessed by helping our brothers and sisters when in need”.
