STONE HARBOR - Eleven employees who work for the Borough of Stone Harbor have been formally recognized for not using any sick time during the calendar year 2011. These eleven employees combined for a total of 28 consecutive years of service to the Borough without ever using one day of sick time.
“We are honored to have these dedicated men and women so committed to making Stone Harbor a wonderful place to live, and vacation”, said Stone Harbor Mayor Suzanne Walters. “To have eleven municipal employees use zero sick time during an entire calendar year is very commendable during a time when employees are being asked to do more with less”.
All eleven employees have received official letters of commendation from Mayor Walters, Council, and administration. They were formally recognized during the Tuesday, February 7th Stone Harbor Borough Council meeting.
Here are the employees recognized along with their continuous years of service without using a sick day: Nine years, Sergeant Thomas Schutta; three years, Sergeant Christopher Palmer, Officer Daniel Peters, and Officer Joseph Smith; two years, Captain Daniel Mulraney and Sergeant Gregory Jackson; one year, Sergeant Stephen Schuck, Officer Brent Grunow, Officer Matthew Minutolo, Officer Michael Workman, Maureen Jackson, and Derick Ironside. Every employee with the exception of Mr. Ironside work for the Stone Harbor Police Department; Ironside works for the Stone Harbor Department of Public Works.
