253rd Return Stalled Slightly
CREST HAVEN — A contingent of the 253rd Transportation Company, New Jersey Army National Guard, had planned to return to their home earlier than previously scheduled, but a later departure than anticipated, then accident on Garden State Parkway has slowed that return. The troops were to arrive at armory here about 1 p.m., but it is likely that the return may be closer to 2 p.m., the original return time.
Many Cape May County fire companies are sending units to escort the troops home from the Ocean View Rest Stop on the Garden State Parkway.
