NORTH CAPE MAY — On Wed., June 16, at approximately 9:40 p.m. the Lower Township Police Department received a 911 call from a tow truck driver who stated he was attempting to repo a 2002 dodge Durango from the 200 block of Suzanne Avenue in the township's North Cape May section.

The tow truck driver stated that a man then came out of the house jumped into the Durango and rammed his tow truck twice with the Durango.

Lower Township Patrol officers responded to the scene where the tow truck driver advised them that after the man rammed his tow truck twice, the tow truck driver then exited the tow truck went up to the Durango placing his hands on the front of the Durango and yelled at the driver to cease his activities.

However at that point, the driver identified as Brent Harris, 25, of the 200 block of Suzanne Avenue accelerated his motor vehicle forward forcing the tow truck driver, identified as Frances W. Quinn Jr., 25, of the North Cape May section of Lower Township, to quickly back up to avoid being struck by the Durango.

After further investigation on scene Brent Harris was arrested and transported to the Lower Township Police Department for processing where he was charged with one count of simple assault for attempting to cause bodily injury to Quinn with a motor vehicle.

Officers also conducted an accident investigation report while at the scene and subsequently issued Harris a motor vehicle summons for careless driving, The tow truck driver stated he was an employee of World Class Management Corp. and had instructions to repo the Dodge Durango from the Suzanne Avenue address.

The incident is under investigation by Patrol Officer Jennifer Anzelone.

Right on TommyR. Although the repo guy was within his rights, what in the heck did he hope to accomplish by putting his hands on the front of the vehicle? Duh....did he think he was strong enough to hold the vehicle back?

I thought repo companies were supposed to submit proper information to the police dept prior to taking action so the activity is legit? Sounds like a big can of worms here and legal action to take place. Do a follow up on this story herald. Sounds like a reality show.

some of your comments are totally inappropriate for the comment section. I enjoy some of the banter but when you start calling people names and making sexual suggestions, you make your self look really stupid.

The repo guy certainly isn't the brightest either. He should have left the area and went back with the police when the owner protested.

Is it true that you don't need any certification to be a repo man (or woman) in NJ?
