STONE HARBOR — While conducting a foot patrol, Officer Workman's attention was drawn to Michael McKay, 58, and Mark Ciarlone, 47, both of Coatsville, Pa., who were carrying pizza boxes and had stopped by a tree in the field at 80th Street and First Avenue. McKay was observed snorting something from the tree.

McKay then walked onto the field where he and Mark Ciarlone lit a marijuana cigarette. Officer Workman advised both subjects they were under arrest and McKay tried to run from the police. Prior to McKay being apprehended, he threw a cloth bag that was later determined to contain a small straw and a bag containing white powder believed to be cocaine.

Upon checking the pizza boxes, an additional bag containing white powder believed to be cocaine was located in one pizza box on top of the pizza amongst the pizza toppings. Ciarlone was also found to be in possession of two Oxycodone pills.

Officer Workman was assisted by Sergeant Palmer and Officer Hartzell.

Ciarlone was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule II Drug, Possession of Marijuana Under 50g, and Drug Paraphernalia.
McKay was charged with Possession of a schedule 11 Drug, Hindering Apprehension, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana Under 50g, and Drug Paraphernalia.

Stone Harbor Municipal Court Judge Fowler set bail at $7,500 with 10 percent for McKay. The case is pending review by the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office.
