COURT HOUSE - The public is invited to attend the eighth annual Cape May County Transportation Infrastructure Conference hosted by Freeholder Will Morey on Tues., Feb. 28. The theme of this year's conference is "Transportation - An Engine That Fuels Economic Development."

The free conference will take place from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with sign-in and refreshments at 9:30 a.m. at the County Administration Building located at 4 Moore Road in Cape May Court House (exit 11 off the Garden State Parkway).

The conference will focus on the role transportation plays in the economic development of a county and its municipalities. Topics for discussion include: Infrastructure Improvements that stimulate the economy, the role of airports and Industrial Parks in strengthening the local economy and projects vital to Cape May County's Economic Development. Additionally, time is being allotted for an open public discussion on transportation issues.

"As Freeholder, one of my primary goals is to encourage and foster economic growth in Cape May County and transportation infrastructure plays a vital role in this effort," Freeholder Morey said. "At this year's conference, Dr. Richard Perniciaro, Dean of Facilities, Planning and Research at Atlantic Cape Community College, will show the correlation between economic growth and transportation looking at success stories in other counties. Additionally, other experts will discuss current and future transportation projects that they believe can be vehicles to help the economy in Cape May County grow."
