County Library Hosts Beginner Class on Nature Photography:

The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “Beginner Nature Photography” classes presented by Mike Hannisian. This five-week workshop will be held on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. beginning March 3. The program will take place at the Sea Isle Branch Library located at 4800 Central Ave. in Sea Isle City.

This course is intended for the person with no or little experience as a photographer. However, this will not be a watered down course. The course will cover various types of photographic equipment, the strengths and weaknesses of each for different types of photography, how to operate various cameras (students are asked to bring their cameras and manuals to class), the technical aspects of photography, JPEG vs. RAW capture, photographic composition, downloading images from the camera to a computer, processing images and preparing images for emails and prints. It is required that students bring their camera and manual (when possible) to class.

Mike Hannisian leads gentle but serious nature photo learning expeditions around Cape May Point for the Cape May Bird Observatory. Many of Hannisian’s images, as well as various articles, reviews, and other writings can be found on his website: www.mike-hannisian.com.

Class size is limited; therefore registration and a valid library card are needed to attend. For additional information please call 263-7301 or visit online at www.cmclibrary.org.
