SEA ISLE CITY — According to Article II of its by-laws the purpose of SICTA is:
• To affirm the year-round quality of life in Sea Isle City, NJ.
• To promote honesty, accountability, openness and responsiveness in local government. Recognizing that its existence affects residents and non-residents alike, SICTA seeks to achieve and to maintain a leadership role in partnership with the City Government and the Sea Isle City business community.
• To this end it will inform its members of all activities and accomplishments; pursue its agenda with integrity and a vision for the future; and establish guidelines, which will ensure its commitment to, and respect for, all the citizens of Sea Isle City.
• To promote the interests of Sea Isle City taxpayers and to serve as their voice in government and community affairs.
To these ends, year-in and year-out, SICTA constantly publishes its research, substantially all of which seeks to improve the fairness, effectiveness and efficiency of local government. However, SICTA has not and will not promote one candidate over another. Further, Article III of the by-laws provides that anyone seeking or holding public office in Sea Isle City is not permitted to be a SICTA board member.
On the other hand, SICTA does not preclude its board members from exercising their legal right to participate. This may have created the perception, not the reality, that SICTA is an advocate of one candidate. As this perception is understandable from the viewpoint of the incumbents, SICTA, with one exception, will hold publishing further research until after the May 10 election.
SICTA will publish its first quarter 2011 newsletter because it is in the final stage of production and the effort and cost is too much to ignore.
After the election, regardless of the outcome, SICTA will resume publishing its research with the same vigor as in the past, perhaps even more due to campaign promises to be reviewed to completion.

So many things wrong with this press release:
First of all, SICTA still receives a priority position in the Herald over actual news and the views of others. You don't see other non-profits or political committees receive the same favored treatment as SICTA.
Second, what SICTA claims to be "perception" IS reality. SICTA "research" and resources are going directly to promote the campaigns of a few.
Third, I'm an incumbent --- an incumbent taxpayer, home owner, parent, business owner, and concerned citizen, and I'm infuriated by SICTA's continual spin! If SICTA simply published statistics without adding its skewed assumptions and conclusions, the "Incumbents" who live here would be more inclined to participate in dialogue with you.
Fourth, SICTA's promise to send out nothing more until after the campaign is just bull. I will bet you that all of their "research" and spin will now just go directly to print in their candidates' campaign materials! this may actually save them some money!

These liars will do anything to skirt the rules, divide the community and continue to put forth their slander. One wonders why in heavens name they moved here? I don't need them to serve as my voice. And I resent them being given front page of the Herald and I want to know who is authorizing this disgrace. But keep it up guys. Your true colors show clearer every day.

Per say Gary Ergnasto resigned as president but he is really still pushing all the buttons and will be the president after the May election.
