PREVIOUS: The Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce will present the ninth annual Fabulous ‘50s & Beyond Weekend Celebration Fri., Oct. 12 and Sat., Oct. 13 in the Wildwoods – a two-day celebration paying tribute to the 1950s and highlighting the Wildwoods’ role in the birth of Rock ‘n Roll music.
The fun begins Friday night, Oct.13, inside the Wildwoods Convention Center with a Record Hop hosted by the “Geator with the Heater” Jerry Blavat, who is guaranteed to get everyone moving and grooving to classic oldies. The Record Hop takes place from 7-11 p.m. and admission is $13 per per-son.
Sat., Oct. 14 will feature an afternoon of outdoor fun and music during the free Fabulous ‘50s and Beyond Street Fair at Fox Park, located across from the Wildwoods Convention Center on Ocean Avenue, from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. The Street Fair will include live entertainment throughout the day. The Street Fair, which will also feature a classic car show, the Doo-Wop ‘50s Bus Tour and a variety of vendors offering ‘50s memorabilia, merchandise, many delicious food options and much more. The Doo-Wop Experience Museum will also be open – where guests can view authentic ‘50s memorabilia, artifacts, room displays, unique items and the amazing i-Wall display of ‘50s history in the Wildwoods.
Saturday evening at 7 p.m., the weekend’s featured event – the Fabulous ‘50s Concert – will take place in the Oceanfront Arena at the Wildwoods Convention Center featuring Kenny Vance and The Planotones, The 5th Dimension, The Orlons, and Paul Revere and The Raiders. Admission is $49.50 per person.
