NORTH CAPE MAY - On Wed., Feb. 2, 2012, at approximately 4 p.m. a one-car motor vehicle accident occurred at Ferry Road and Sheriff Taylor Boulevard. The driver lost control of her car, took out a traffic light, ending up in the ditch. The Town Bank Fire Department responded, using the Jaws of Life to free the victim, who was then transported to Cape Regional Medical Hospital by Lower Township Rescue. Her injuries were reported to be not life threatening. The accident is being investigated by Lower Township Police Department.

i know the lady who was injured ! she doesnt own a cell phone, so no text or talking,or dialing was possible. Maybe instead of giving thoughts to what you believe happened thank the fireman and emts who helped save her life.and leave your guessing to jeopardy.

No need to guess. Unless the automobile has seriously malfunctioned or the driver was seriously impaired (or asleep), the only cause would be yapping or tapping on the cell phone.

@marmoracat: For privacy reasons, it's not uncommon for the media to obscure the license plate with photo editing software such as Photoshop. That's what this looks like, that they just made the plate area match the car color.
