The bidding for items, mostly abandoned, stolen, or lost bicycles and some office equipment, will be as hot as the temperature on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at noon. The auction will be held in the parking lot on the west side of the public safety building, 233 Kennedy Blvd., in Sea Isle City.

Serving as the auctioneer, as in the past, will be Mayor Leonard Desiderio, who keeps the bidding moving and the bidders laughing. "I don't come to bid on a bike as much as I come to see the Mayor in action," said a prospective bidder at last year's auction.

Last year's auction netted the city $1,903, according to Carmela Desiderio, purchasing agent, who is coordinating the auction with staff from the finance office. "That was the largest amount we ever raised in the auction," said Carmela Desiderio. "We are expecting to do as well this year."

To bid, prospective bidders must register at the site. For additional information, interested participants may go to the city's website: www.sea-isle-city.nj.us.
