To The Editor: In a recent conversation with a good friend, many of the current national issues were discussed and deliberated with disconcerting agreement as to how those issues were being addressed. First of all, we must acknowledge that in the work place there is always a supervisor-manager who determines the priorities and insures that the quality and policies are followed. For those responsibilities they are paid according to that scale of responsibilities. If you invested your money and time in that business you soon recognized extra hours and maybe some light paychecks. With the issues of spending, taxes, entitlements, government programs etc., we are paying our representatives $174,000 with additional benefits and lifetime pensions. For that management responsibility we expect them to address and manage those responsibilities just as those in the private sector jobs. Within the last decade Social Security and Medicare estimates that payments will begin to fail in their meeting payment obligations during the 2020 decade. Then why agree to remove $500 billion from the Medicare program to begin a new healthcare system? The payroll tax deduction permits employees to have approximately $1,000 extra to spend or pay bills. Excuse me, if the Social Security and Medicare programs are in jeopardy, why are the politicians removing funds that reduce liquidity in those systems? These decisions are only accelerating system failures. The last three-and-a-half years the government has exceeded the income revenues by $4 trillion. Jobs, jobs, jobs every government entity expresses the importance for job creation. Unfortunately our federal government perceives the only potential job growth, aside from political jobs, is in the green / alternative energy market. The Keystone XL project wants to spend several billions of private money, create a minimum of 20,000 jobs, provide significant oil and natural gas supplies to the U. S. (from a friendly country) and our government will make a yes or no decision after the election? Jobs /Energy are priorities? The proposed pipeline was moved because of environmental concerns. Nebraska has 50 existing pipelines but the 51st is an environmental disaster? Presently our imported oil comes from the volatile, unpredictable Middle East, Africa and South America, and is carried by tankers. Compare the spill events from tankers to those of the Alaska pipeline. Which do you suspect had the greater events? Windmill renewable energy? It sounds like it may be free, with the wind and all. The Atlantic City Windmill is projected to provide 25 M/W output which may be enough power to service 10,000 homes? If you install a generation station three miles offshore would you expect the cost to transport the workers to a floating work station, perform maintenance tasks that conform to OSHA protocols without the services of a crane and qualified operators? Add some taxpayer carrots, the wind farm owners are offered “program money and tax incentives.” Hey guys, it’s just your tax dollars. Tomorrow our elected dolt factory will approve to increase the debt ceiling $1 trillion, that being said, that equates to $10 billion a week in interest payments. Look for another bond downgrade. To those unfamiliar with the rating system, it means that it costs more to borrow money, so $10 billion may be on the low side. Spend 44 cents for a stamp or at least a phone call expressing your opinion to your part-time, $174,000 representative. AL CROSSEN North Cape May .

You voted the 174K representative into office, so live with the consequences. Oh, and good luck in your constitute feedback. You will be given lip service. Face the music : There will be no entitlements such as Social Security when retirement approaches for me by 2025.
