To The Editor: I would love you to write a story about the school bus dangers to children, when cars just refuse to stop when a bus is picking up or dropping them off. Its day three for me, day four for public school. I ride as an aide on Middle Township’s Special Services Bus 25. In the past three days we have had five cars and a motorcycle just completely ignore the lights on the bus. When the ambers are on, it means the bus is about to stop pick up a child to take to school or drop off after school. When the red lights are on, it means the door is open and a child is either getting on or off. I do not understand how people can be so ignorant as to endanger the life of a child with such disrespect. Some children will cross in front of a bus, and if people don’t obey the lights, I fear a child will be hit causing severe damage or even death. Wake up, people. School is back in session and kids are on the streets. Let’s all work together to protect them. LUCINDA SMITH Villas
