As I said before, the storm isn't anyone's fault, but failure to maintain their equipment solely lies on the utility companies. It is the utility companies that aren't prepared. I saw MORE out of the area trucks than I saw AC Electric trucks. How many street lights are out in your neighborhood? How many have been out 6 months or more? I'm not talking about the storm, I'm talking about a routine basis.

The true test is, Have we learned anything? Are we going to be better prepared for the next emergency?

Bennet,
Most of Avalon has lost their power and is still without. Stop turning this into a favorable thing.

This storm wasn't anyone's fault. I think everyone did a great job considering the hand we were dealt. I was without power and heat for 3 1/2 days. All those complaining were sitting in their homes complaining about what others (outside in the weather) weren't doing fast enough to make the complainer's life's better and more comfortable. If you are not happy with the conditions get out and help and stop whinning about the roads, electric lines, fallen trees. I commend all AC Electric employees, police, fire, ambulance and any and all who have tried to help restore everyone's life back to what we commonly take for granted. God bless and thanks for doing your job with the best of your ability....many are appreciative....however you will always hear from those who are always negative and never part of a solution...it is a shame but those people are the constant drain on society!

Funny how Wildwood is the last to be restored. If it was Avalon there would be more workers involved. Based on the rate they are working, it may not be fixed until April. We should all get a years worth of free electric. I second they need for the investigation.

West Wildwood - A classic "Catch 22". Mayor Herbie Frederick tells us Public Works can't plow because of lines down, SO HE SENDS THEM HOME! In reality and in fact, all the Boroughs equipment was broken the first day of the storm!
Atlantic City Electric tells us, they can't and won't come in to town without the streets plowed, understandably! "Catch 22" WHERE'S OUR OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT? WHE HAVE NONE!!! EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OVERRIDES THE MAYOR EXCEPT IN WEST WILDWOOD! WAY TO GO, HERBIE!!!

I just wanted to say that I think Atlantic City Electric is doing a great job trying to get everyone's electric back on. Mother Nature is to blame for all the problems not the Electric company they are only human and are trying their best to get the job done. I can see why they are suspending their efforts for right now. There are plenty of shelters open for people who don't have electricity so there shouldn't be any complaints. If you are sitting in the dark and cold but don't want to go to a shelter then that is not anyone's problem but yours the help is there take advantage of it. AC Electric keep up the good work!

What a disgrace for AC electric and the rest who were supposed to help. This storm was advertised for a week. They should have had backup plans and requested help from other states days before not days after. They are quick to send bills but I haven't seen a truck yet. We have been yelling about downed wires on East Taylor since 5am on Saturday. I haven't seen a truck all weekend. A block away, WC is on but Wildwood is still out. The whole storm was a mess including the terrible job of doing the roads. What is Wildwood 20 blocks by 5 blocks? It isn't a city. Also, Lower did a terrible job as well. I had to come over to the Villas to get heat and a shower. The roads are a disgrace from Menz all the way down Bayshore and some roads not plowed at all. They are now a foot of ice and ruts. They cant be plowed now and with additional snow, these roads will be ice for weeks. Everyone deserves an F for handling of this storm. Its not Florida morons, we get snow every year! AC Electric should be fined for this fiasco.

There needs to be an investigation with The Board Of Utilities. If you were listening to your scanners, you heard the Lower Township Police questioning their dispatchers about the location of Atlantic Electric trucks.................there were none. Not one Conectiv truck was anywhere near Lower Township until the electric company manually shut the power off to North Cape May so they would not have to answer any downed wires calls. They only had two trucks on over the weekend because they did not want to pay overtime. And miraculously, at 7PM Monday morning the power to North Cape May came on. Lets all hold our Electric Bill payment for three weeks this month !!!!! Maybe they'll get the message!!

i have a generator and i have electric however being that the electric wires are sitting in the snow in my front yard and my meter is partially yanked from my house i think i have a major reason to be concerned

Buy a generator for the next storm and you will not be shivering in the dark waiting for power to be restored after each storm. Be prepared. Be a solution and not the problem. My generator is humming away keeping the lights on and the heater running.

I think it's time AC electric starts thinking more about underground utilities. Every windstorm, snowstorm we get lines are being taken out by tree's, ice, wind. Bury them, and voila, no more problems.
Either that or start a VERY aggressive attack on trees that are anywhere near power lines.
I'm sure they're working as quickly as possible, and everyone wants them at their house repairing their electric service right away, but with the amount of work they have to do, it's not going to happen over night.

All of you monday quarterbackers that are critical of A.C. Electric, you expect them to get your particular house and no one elses, service with a snap of your finger. How fast do you expect them to work when the whole county is practically out of service.

What a bunch of bozos at Atlantic Electric. They should be more prepared. We should all sue for this mess they created.

Thanks Atlantic City Electric for keeping us updated with even the most basic progress report of your efforts to restore power. You suck at it with your lip service and no report on your lack of progress. Makes me want to go out and pay my bill on time.
