Friday, Nov. 13:
As of 11:30 a.m., Middle Thorofare Bridge, connecting Five Mile Beach and Lower Township was open only to emergency vehicles, not the public, according to police reports.

Road update:

Cape May County Bridge Commission Executive Director Stephen O’Connor on Friday, Nov. 13 announced that tolls on Middle Thorofare and Ocean City Longport Bridges have been lifted until Saturday at 8 a.m.

Middle Thorofare Bridge is, however, closed to the public because Ocean Drive is closed due to power lines on the road.

County Road 631 Tuckahoe Road at Tyler Road in the Petersburg/Marmora area is closed due to flooding.

Butter Road is also closed.

EARLIER Nov. 13:
A Coastal Flooding Warning is in effect for the Jersey shore, as many businesses and roads are flooded by the morning high tide combined with the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

The National Weather Service says the Warning is for Atlantic, Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, Coastal Ocean, Cumberland, Eastern Monmouth, Middlesex, Ocean, Salem, Southeastern Burlington, and Western Monmouth counties in New Jersey, and Delaware Beaches, Inland Sussex, Kent, New Castle in Delaware.

Flooding is expected for the next four tide cycles, and the Warning is in place until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Friday's flooding is expected to be the worst. During high tide some expect flood waters to reach nearly a mile-and-a-half inland.
