WILDWOOD -- As expected, due to the Nor'easter that is pelting Cape May County on Saturday, Oct. 17, flooding of low-lying portions of barrier islands was taking place about 7:30 a.m.
As a result North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest sounded flood alarms to alert residents of impending high water.
Earlier, residents were urged to relocate their vehicles to higher ground.
Also, as a result of the flooding, expect George Redding Bridge to be closed, as the portions of Wildwood east of the bridge will likely flood, making passage impossible.
Exit routes from Five Mile Beach are through North Wildwood on New Jersey Avenue and via Pacific Avenue (Ocean Drive) through Wildwood Crest to Lower Township and then to the Garden State Parkway.

Will someone let me know what actually happened on the Island. Was there any damage to the newly pumped in sand. How about flooding. Did NJ Ave flood? Thanks
