NORTH WILDWOOD -- The city’s Office of Emergency Management urges all residents on the west side of town to be prepared to move their vehicles to higher ground during the anticipated high tides the night of Oct. 15 through Sunday, Oct. 18.

Predictions from the National Weather Service indicate that high tides associated with the early season Northeaster storm will cause tide heights exceeding eight feet, which would equate to substantial flooding in areas primarily west of New Jersey Avenue.

Additionally, heavy rain during the time of high tide, will start to back up and cause rain water flooding, as opposed to tidal flooding in areas along New Jersey and Central avenues.

Predicted tides are 7.4 feet on Oct. 15 at 6:53 p.m.; 7.8 feet on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:26 a.m.;8.0 feet on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7:43 p.m.; 8.1 feet on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8:11 a.m.; 7.4 feet on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 8:29 p.m. and 7.2 feet on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 8:55 a.m.

Times are for the Fifth Avenue boat ramp.

Concerned residents should monitor local television and radio along with the National Weather Service for current information.

Good Job NW on alerting the taxpayers! Shouldn't all of Wildwoods be alerted on the West side? Wildwood surely floods on the west side and so does West Wildwood!

North Wildwood is on the ball! Kudos!
