Like to surf fish? Sign up for the Wetlands Institute’s Bass and Blues fishing tournament Oct. 24 to Nov. 1.

The boundaries are from Ocean City south to Stone Harbor.

Only surf fishing is permitted (no boats) and three separate divisions (open, women, 17 and under) let the whole family participate. Prizes will be awarded in each division for largest fish at an awards banquet Nov. 1.

Register before the tournament begins at $10 for Wetlands Institute members and $15 for non-members. Sign up costs during the event are $20 and $15 respectively.

Those participants 17 and under can register for $10 any day. All proceeds go toward expanding the Institute’s “learn to fish" program.

Registration and weigh-in stations are FIN-ATICS at 1325 West Ave., Ocean City and Avalon Hodge Podge, 2389 Ocean Dr., Avalon.

Contestants can download an application from the website, wetlandsinstitute.org, and mail it to "Bass and Blues" 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd. Stone Harbor, NJ 08247.

E-mail questions to aquarium@wetlandsinstitute.org.
