In typical Pocono fash-ion, rain postponed the Sprint Cup Series event until Monday afternoon. The results were not available for this edition at press time.

Nationwide Series: Brad Keselowski forced Kyle Busch to yet another second place Nationwide Series finish, passing him with eight laps to go to claim the inaugural race at Iowa Speedway. Jason Leffler was third, followed by Carl Edwards in fourth and Kelly Bires in fifth.

Camping World Truck Series: Ron Hornaday just keeps on winning. The 51-year-old Hornaday won a record fifth straight truck series race, and crew chief Rick Ren be-came all-time leader in wins by a crew chief with 27. Brian Scott was sec-ond, followed by Colin Braun in third, Timothy Peters in fourth, and Matt Crafton rounding out the top five. Despite his five-race streak, Matt Crafton is staying within reason-able reach of Hornday in the standings, some 216 points behind with 11 races remaining.

Other News: Could NASCAR racing be coming to New Jersey? Maybe not, but a NASCAR team is.

TRG Motorsports, which fields the No. 71 car for David Gilliland, as well as Camping World Truck and Rolex Grand-Am Series entries, an-nounced last week that they will make Millville, New Jersey and the New Jersey Motorsports Park their new home.
TRG plans to construct a $5 million, 40,000 square-foot facility that will house garages, office space, racing simulators, retail space, and a cigar and wine bar on the race-track’s grounds.

The facility will become the East Coast home of TRG, which currently is based California.

"I took a number of things into consideration “When choosing NJMP," said team owner Kevin Buckler. "I looked at loca-tion first, obviously. I looked at track manage-ment. We've got a long history of racing and we're interested in someone who was willing to work with us. If I'm going to sink millions into a busi-ness opportunity, I've got to be sure."

For the first time since the track’s opening last year, a Sprint Cup Series car took laps around the road course last week. TRG’s David Gilliland gave ride around the track in a modified cup car. Gilliland and Sprint Cup Series teammate Andy Lally also ran test sessions in the cars, which they plan, to race in at Watkins Glen in the coming weeks.

Both drivers seemed to think highly of the track. Gilliland stated that the track is “very much like the Sprint Cup courses” and great for racing. Lally went one step further.

“I would love to see a truck race here,” he said. “I think ARCA chose a great facility to come to, and the trucks and Na-tionwide cars drive similar to what the ARCA cars drive like. You have de-cent passing zones here, and the corners are laid out so that it would make for really exciting racing for fans.”

TRG plans to use its current facility in Mooresville, NC and them Millville facility to build and test racecars. The team hopes to break ground on the new head-quarters by the end of 2009.

Coming Up: The Sprint Cup and Nationwide Se-ries teams head to the Watkins Glen Interna-tional Raceway for another weekend of road-course racing. Don’t miss any of the exciting right turns!
