Man Arrested for DUI After Striking Two Parked Vehicles

ERMA — On July 4 at approximately 3:30 a.m., Lower Township police received reports of several motor vehicle accidents in the 100 Block of Orchard Drive in the North Cape May Section of the township.

Investigation on scene determined that Eric Bradway, 26, of Salem, drove his vehicle in reverse at a high rate of speed on Orchard Drive. Before striking a Dodge Dakota which was pushed approximately 30 feet from the point of impact.
Bradway’s vehicle then continued for another 75 feet in reverse before striking a second vehicle, a Saturn SLI, before coming to a stop.

Bradway was arrested at the scene by Patrolman Brian McEwing. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

The accident was one of ten 10 motor vehicle accidents and hundreds of calls for
service investigated by Lower Township Patrol Officers over the July 4 weekend.

♦ 2 – Domestic Violence Complaints with Assaults
♦ 26 – Emergency Medical Rescue Calls
♦ 08 – Criminal Mischief Complaints
♦ 31 – Local Ordinance Violations
♦ 3 – Missing Person Calls
♦ 10 – Parking Offenses
♦ 13 – Suspicious Person Calls
♦ 3 – Theft Complaints
♦ 2 – Trespassing Complaints
♦ 1 – Aggravated Assault
♦ 6 – Warrant Arrests

Numerous illegal fireworks complaints were received.

In addition, Lower Township Detectives, while conducting an ongoing drug investigation in the Schellengers Landing section of the township, arrested a 16 year
old male juvenile for possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute, after the juvenile was found to be in possession of 150 small bags of heroin.
