VILLAS— At least three people were injured, one seriously, on Bayshore Road and West Florida Avenue on Tuesday, July 7 around 5:25 p.m.
The Villas Fire Department was requested to the scene with the Jaws-of-Life for a rescue assignment, according to reports.
The Lower Township Rescue Squad and two AtlantiCare paramedic units were dispatched to the scene. When Emergency Medical Technicians arrived they requested two medevac helicopters to fly.
The aeromedical helicopter Life Net 64 out Sussex County, Del. and Medevac 5 were dispatched to the Cape May county airport where the Erma Fire Department was standing by for the landing zone assignment.
Medevac 5 transported one patient reported to have a compound leg fracture to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s trauma unit in Atlantic City.
The Life Net 64 helicopter was recalled in flight.
Lower Township Rescue Squad transported two patients to Cape Regional Medical Center.
The accident is under investigation by Lower Township Police.
