WILDWOOD — The Wildwood Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating six suspects that reportedly were involved in an armed robbery of an apartment at the Sea Shell Motel on July 5.

An investigation by the Wildwood Police Department Uniformed Patrol Division, Wildwood Police Department Detective Division and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office learned that eight people had reportedly been robbed in an apartment at the Sea Shell Motel, located at 250 East Rio Grande Avenue sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on July 5.

Six perpetrators, three males and three females, reportedly entered the apartment through a door that was propped open and told the victims not to scream. At least two suspects reportedly brandished a handgun.

According to a police report, after the victims were instructed to hand over their jewelry, wallets and money from their pockets, they were taken into the bathroom of the bathroom where their hands and feet were tied. The victims were reportedly told not to leave the bathroom or they would be shot.

The victims told police they waited until they were sure the suspects were gone, freed themselves and got help.

The suspects reportedly all appeared to be in their late teens to mid-twenties and were of Hispanic descent. One male was described as being dark skinned, approximately six feet tall with short-cropped hair, has facial chair from ear to his chin, a tattoo on the left side of his neck and wearing a white T-shirt with blue Capri shorts. A second male was described a 5’9” to 5’ 10” tall, with short dark hair, wearing blue basketball shorts and a white T-shirt with white sneakers. The third male was described as being 5’8” tall with a short afro-style hairdo and a goatee. One female was described as being 5’4” to 5’6” tall, heavyset with dark colored hair and having a star shaped tattoo below her right eye in green ink.
