COURT HOUSE — According to county Prosecutor Robert Taylor and Lower Township Police Chief Ed Donohue, a Villas man has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Rosalino Gomez, 36, of the 100 block of W. Bates Avenue, is accused of committing an act of sexual penetration on a juvenile female that he had supervisory authority over, a release stated. He is alleged to have done this on two separate occasions.

Gomez was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of second-degree endangering. He was committed to county jail in lieu of $200,000 cash bail.

Persons convicted of first-degree crimes face 10 to 20 years in state prison and those convicted of second-degree crimes face five to 10 years, the release stated.

Taylor and Donohue commended Prosecutor’s Office and Lower Township police detectives for their cooperative efforts in resolving this case.
