SEA ISLE CITY— Police are investigating a reported stabbing here on the 200 block of 42nd Street that occurred at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17.

Police arrived on the scene and requested an ambulance to respond and to “expedite response”.

Sea Isle City Ambulance Corps and Medic 3 were dispatched to the scene.

When the ambulance arrived on scene they reported the victim to be a 23 year-old male stabbed in the back. Police have identified the victim as 24 year-old Erik Hernandez-Martinez

Martinez was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center’s trauma unit in Atlantic City. His condition is unknown.

An investigation by the Cape May Prosecutors Office and Sea Isle City detectives, revealed that Martinez and a co-worker, identified as Momchil D. Savev, a 24-year-old native of Bulgaria, engaged in a physical altercation during which Savev attacked Hernandez-Martinez with a knife. Savev was subsequently charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He was committed to the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.

No cops patrolling the "bar areas"??? Are you high? Take a look around a 5 block radius of JFK and Landis some saturday night between midnight and 2am. Besides check the last names...a bulgarian stabbed a mexican and they're described as "co-workers"...sounds like a squabble among seasonal restaurant help gone too far to me.

We have plenty of police to chase people going 5 miles over the speed limit up Central Avenue on Saturday morning with sirens wailing and going 50 mph. One day a child will be killed and by these speeding police. We have enough police to patrol the beach armed on ATV's during the summer, which is absolutly redicules. However, there are never many police patrolling the bar areas. Why that may be bad for business. Our mayor has a soft spot for Barowners, I wonder why. What's good for business in the town is not necessarily good for the residents. Our mayor has a major conflict of interest and the residents should wake up to whose interest he serves and stop being lured in with his free cocktail parties before elections.

IAMLOCAL: why so upset about living in Wildwood? Just because you live where there is crime and I don't, doesn't mean people need to talk bad about a town. Wildwood will always be bashed on because it is a sh--hole
