There are people constantly joining the market, so its length will vary with the number of vendors each week.

“New Jersey, the Garden State, is known for the abundance of fresh produce it offers,” explains Rachael Morrison, Executive Director of Sea Isle Revitalization.

For this reason, the revitalization committee has decided to hold a weekly Farmers Market for the 2009 summer. The Market will begin on June 30 until August 25, every Tuesday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

The market will begin on JFK Boulevard and continue up Pleasure Avenue, and will consist of local farmers from all over the state, as well as many other vendors, including bakers and florists.

One of the local business vendors participating in the market is Dana Morris, owner of Boulevard Produce on Sea Isle Boulevard.

This is her first time participating in a Farmers Market because unlike some others, the Sea Isle Farmers Market does not require vendors to grow and make all of their own products.

Fees to participate in the Farmers Market are $25 per day or $180 for all nine weeks of summer. Checks should be made payable to “Sea Isle Revitalization.”

The Market is looking for a wide variety of products, including herbs, breads, cheeses, and Jersey grown fruits and vegetables. Vendors may only bring up to three items that are not Jersey grown.
