With a grand prize of $1,000 savings bond, and several other prizes including bicycles and even more savings bonds, the North Wildwood Captain Kidd’s Treasure Hunt for kids 12 and under should be on your calendar for May 16.

Check-in time is from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at 26th and the boardwalk. All participants must be in full pirate costume.

The parade steps off at 11 a.m., and when the kids reach 15th and the beach, that’s when the real fun begins.

Age-appropriate pens will be set up on the beach, and each hunter will search for (and of course find) a treasure chest.

But even after the pirates have won their chest, there are still many chances to win even more treasure.

Each chest comes with a raffle ticket, and that how winners will be chosen for the grand prize and all the other prizes to be given away that day.

To register, call 609-522-2955. You can also register at the check-in the day of the hunt.
