OCEAN CITY — Two city residents were arrested and charged with drug-related offenses in the wake of a Saturday, Jan. 3 traffic stop.
According to a release, Patrolman Robert Koob and Sgt. Brian Trostle, conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 1800 block of Central Avenue for traffic violations.
During that stop the officers seized a small amount of marijuana and prescription medications from the passenger, Timothy G. Smith, 23, of Ocean City.
An additional search of the vehicle revealed more prescription medication. The driver, Christopher R. Hartman, 21, of Ocean City, was then arrested for possession of the medication.
The investigation led officers to conduct a search at a residence in the 3000 block of Central Avenue.
At that location the officers found approximately 3.6 pounds of marijuana and materials used for packaging and sale of the marijuana seized.
Hartman was released on a summons. Smith was placed on an arrest warrant issued by Judge Richard Russell, in the amount of $30,000 full cash bail.
Smith was charged with possession CDS, possession marijuana over 50 grams, possession with intent to distribute, distribution of marijuana 1oz – 5 pounds, possession drug paraphernalia.
Hartman was charged with possession CDS.

4th Amendment violating cops and their "consent to search forms", no doubt, haha. Or maybe they went before a judge and obtained a search warrant. Either way, good job Ocean City PD!

How can they conduct a search on your home, when they find pot in your car
