Frank Smith, the storyteller for "The Ghosts of Christmas Past.

A strange young woman appears for Christmas dinner, an old ghost convinces his grandson to celebrate Christmas, and two children bring a snow-image to life. Listen to these tales on the "Ghosts of Christmas Past" Trolley Rides co-sponsored by The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and the Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company.

The ghostly stories are based on "The Twelfth Guest" by Mary Wilkins Freeman, "Old Applejoy's Ghost" by Frank R. Stockton, and, new this season, "The Snow Image" by Nathaniel Hawthorne. All have been adapted for storytelling by East Lynne's Artistic Director Gayle Stahlhuth.

Enjoy the beautifully decorated streets and the stories, all from the comfort of a heated trolley.

Most of the "spirited" thirty-minute rides begin and end at the Washington Street Mall Information Booth. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, ages 3-12, and run almost nightly through Jan. 3.

Once again, the main costumed storyteller is Frank Smith, who was the first person to portray Dr. Physick for the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts' tour of the Physick Estate, and has performed for ELTC in William Gillette's "Sherlock Holmes" and for "Tales of the Victorians."
