
CAPE MAY — AtlantiCare Paramedics were requested to Pier 3 at Coast Guard Station Cape May for a reported amputation about 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec 3.
According to Petty Officer Jonathan Lindberg, a Coast Guard spokesperson, a crew member aboard Coast Guard Cutter Finback had an injury to his hand while working on the boat which resulted in him losing the tips of two of his fingers on his right hand.
The member's name was not released but was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center by local medical personnel for treatment and surgical consultation, according to Lindberg.
